Bredonborough.
Today, legislation comes into effect: no smoking in public places. For one who loves an English pub, albeit with tobacco-stained walls of 50 years non-decoration, this is a delight. The Sun & Moon will be an even more enjoyable destination, on those few occasions when I allow my feet to carry me down the street.
A morning organising shelves…
On the lower shelves are my Father’s set of Encyclopedia Britannica (1971). These have recently come up from the Cellar, before that were in boxes for 7 years following our departure from Reddish House, and now on newly-constructed shelves. Some months before my father died, having a sense that his purchase on life came with a limited time-period, if I was visiting my Parents for dinner, he would say take these on with you, indicating some volumes on his bookshelves. Now, I have two editions of the EB: my usefully-sized Reader’s Edition of the EB11, and the 1971.
What’s in an edition? Well, EB11 is widely considered a Beast…

Above EB 1971 are photo albums carried in yesterday, awaiting ordering. These include pix of the RLH, with some ridiculously young-looking Crafties of the early years.
An afternoon gentling followed by more organising…
… photo albums now on bottom left.
